The Retro Daisy quilt is super groovy and has loads of spunk! Created by Maude, the Retro Quilter herself, who loves everything quilting and everything vintage. We are thrilled to be able to run this class. Something a little bit different just for you!
The Retro Daisy quilt pattern is an applique pattern using a non conventional method that makes the applique easy and fun. It also has a range of construction options including a 3D applique.
In this class you will challenge your fabric choices, chat about colour, learn the different pattern construction techniques and have loads of fun with Josie who will be running this class.
Your workshop fee includes a quilt kit containing 18 fat quarters for petals and blocks and 50cms WOF for centre petals. This will give you enough fabric to make a 9 block quilt top measuring 48in x 48in. We stitched our remaining scraps to the outside of the blocks to increase the size. Purchase more fabric to make larger sizes from the pattern if you want to make a larger version. Pop by and see our sample in store for some ideas.
Your first class will include review of pattern, fabric selection for your blocks, methods of construction, followed by cutting out templates + pattern pieces. The following 2 classes will be sewing blocks, with the aim of you being able to finish the remainder of the quilt in your own time.

Class requirements: Rotary cutter, black fineline pen to mark your templates, fabric scissors as well as scissors to cut templates, Sewing machine in good working order, threads and general sewing supplies. |
