Evening Class: The Slow Stitching Orton Bag - Tuesday 23rd , Thursday 25th and Tuesday 30th March from 5:30pm - 8:00pm.Regular price $90.00
Merchant & Mills describe their Orton Bag pattern as a marvellous oversized tote bag and MARVELLOUS it is!
The Orton can be made up in an unlimited range of fabric types, lightweight linen, hardy canvas, vintage bark cloth and more. Choose the fabric for the type of look you want. We made 2 Orton beauties... one in a Gertrude Made Barkcloth for that "carpet bag" look and feel and another in a linen/cotton fabric for a softer bag.
This class will focus on the softer bag, which is made from Essex Linen/Cotton and is slightly smaller. For some slow stitching, we used the boro stitch technique to attach a few chosen Anna Maria Horner frayed fabric squares to give our bag some colour and make it unique.
This class will be run by Josie and held over 3 evenings. You will make up your Orton bag and learn the boro stitching technique on the first evening and over the next two classes, you will learn how to attach and secure your fabric pieces and have loads of fun slow stitching.
