COUTURE EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP: GOLDWORK

Goldwork is the art of embroidery using metal threads. Historically associated with ceremonial, ecclesiastical and military uniform the technique is now also popular in customisation, couture and interior design. Using metallic threads - imitation gold, silver, copper or coloured - allows embroiderers to create surface designs that reflect light and create dazzling effects, adding dynamism and instant glamour.
In this one-day class where you will learn the basics of goldwork embroidery covering string padding, felt padding, pearl purl, and cutwork.

No homework required. These workshops are designed to be ‘introductory’ or ‘level 1’, however some needlework skills will be an advantage.
