There is a very simple style of a wholecloth quilt, made with two single pieces of fabric. Stitching, whether it is simple or complex, highlights the beauty of the fabric itself. These quilts are perfect for those fabrics you cant bear to cut up.
Although you can machine quilt wholecloth quilts, for this class, Josie will show you how to hand baste and hand quilt two pieces of your choice.
For our wholecloth quilt, we chose Yoshiko Jinzenji fabric from YUWA, which made a stunning and contemporary baby quilt. You could choose the same for that modern look or use whole lengths of fabric you love to make your own.
We will have fun in this class which will cover fabric selection, hand basting with needle and cotton, formulating a quilting design for your quilt, hand quilting techniques, binding and finishing.
