The textile technique of smocking has been in practice in England since the late 17th to 19th century. The exact time in history and its true origins is unsure, but what we do know that this beautiful technique continues to be an enduring part of fashion.
Join the Saturday Smocking Group for two weeks and learn the art of Smocking or re-discover your skills in this special 2-week introductory group with Margie Macalpine, Teacher and Consultant in sewing, smocking and embroidery.
To get you started, we will provide a small pleated 100% Cotton sampler, 2 strands of DMC stranded cotton of your choice and a Bohin Crewel needle pack.
Voila.... you have all the tools and will be ready to start learning your stitches!
