Inspired by roving-style “unspun yarns”, Quarry is a chunky, three ply yarn, which comes in a range of 15 heathered colours, each colour being named after a gemstone or mineral.
This yarn is soft and it’s three strands are gently spun into a plump yarn that looks like a single ply, so be gentle when knitting with Quarry.
Despite this soft structure, it knits with great stitch definition and once blocked becomes cohesive, providing a lovely soft drape. The Calico and Ivy team's favourite Quarry knit just has to be the Riverbend Cardigan by Julie Hoover.
We also enjoy Quarry for beginner patterns, like your very first scarf! Whichever project you choose this is a great yarn that knits up quick.
