Slow Stitching is about being in the moment.... slowing down and enjoying the process of creating.
Calico and Ivy are delighted to present Lisa Mattock from Forage, an amazing Textile Artist to take two very special workshops in Slow Stitching.
Lisa draws inspiration from the Japanese stitching methods of Boro and Sashiko and she will show you how to use a mixture of re-purposed, recycled and vintage textiles to create the background for your piece. We will be offering a choice of workshops, details below:
Dates: Friday 6th, Saturday 7th or Sunday 8th April, 2018. Choose one or select both!
Time: 10:00am to 3:00pm
Cost: $130.00 per person.
Workshop fee includes tuition, class notes, a goodie bag with an array of reclaimed textiles, threads and embellishments. In addition, Morning tea, a light lunch, coffee and tea are provided.
You will need to bring scissors, assorted threads and any special vintage or treasured textiles or embellishments you wish to sew into your work.
If you have always wanted to re-use old textiles, entwine treasured pieces from the past, mend and use new pieces to create a new piece, then this is the workshop for you. You can use your work to sew into a quilt, frame to hang on the wall, embellish a jacket, make a cushion..... the choices are both inspiring and endless!
Spoil yourself and be a part of this beautiful event.
