Clare Devine Workshop: Shawl Knitting Toolkit, Sunday 28th October 2018

Love knitting shawls but want to experiment with some new techniques to add a new level of finesse to your projects – this workshop is the perfect space to extend your shawl knitting toolkit.

The talented Clare Devine will run this jam-packed workshop and you will leave feeling inspired and ready to tackle some new shawl patterns while banishing all those little niggles that often leave you feeling lack lustre about the finished object.

After looking at a range of shawl shapes and style of construction we will look at ways to cast-on and cast/bind-off your shawl with a range of useful techniques. We will cover ways to create beautifully stretchy edges and for carrying yarn up the side in shawls with more than one colour.

Time will be spent looking at charts so you can easily tackle those beautifully charted shawls. Finally we will look at ways to weave in ends neatly and invisibly and how to block your finished shawl.

There will be plenty of large group discussion, time for practising new knitting techniques and small group demonstrations.
