The GYO sewing pattern by Merchant & Mills

There is something special about Merchant & Mills' range of sewing patterns – simple, stylish, practical and classic.

Carolyn Denham and Roderick Field are the team behind Merchant & Mills.  They began in 2010 with "the intention of bringing style and purpose to the overlooked world of sewing".  

They respect the roots of sewing and aim to inspire everyday people to find satisfaction in making their patterns. 

Calico and Ivy have been stocking Merchant & Mills patterns – as well as their books, tools and fabrics – for many years, and we love the quality this brand has to offer. 

We made up a sample (well ... actually three samples because we loved it so much) of their latest pattern, the GYO, and it is super simple to construct. We haven't made the dress yet but are desperate to make it up with two light layers, as well as a sheer top overlay.
