Meet my staff, who are affectionately known as the "Calico" girls
We choose to have a great time together and hope when you visit, you too will share in our fun.
anthea is our girl of many hats. She plays counter girl, teaches classes aimed to encourage freedom of interpretation whilst learning technique in all elements of textile and fibre and is the face behind the yuniko range of product, which you will see with increasing presence within 'calico's' walls.
anthea is a super talent, who finds a use for most of our recyclable's and takes them to a new level with her very identifiable creative bent.
knitting inspiration, education and creative direction are all very natural to our lynnie
we now add expert quilt colourist and technition to this repetoire as she has demonstrated in her magnificent liberty fabric quilts
as a neighbour jenny welcomed me into the south fremantle community many years ago and we began a great friendship
jenny now extends that warm welcome to all of our customers and will help you with colour selections and sewing and knitting advice
suzie came to us as our quilting teacher, and has easily added counter girl to her role
suzie so generously gives advice and passes on knowledge to all of her customers
jane has been a friend and one of my few students (I am not that comfortable in the role as teacher) for many years now. She chose to attend a 'beginners' quilting class I was teaching whilst working at jan mullen's studio, and I still believe she taught me more than I taught her. Nevertheless we had a great time, and formed an immediate bond.
how lucky am I that both jane and lynn are happy to commute from mandurah to help me in the shop.
